It is with great sadness that we share the news that Hilary West sadly passed away on 3rd March 2026.
Hilary was at the heart of the business for many years and was loved and respected by so many customers, friends and members of the local community. Her passion, creativity and dedication to floristry touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed.
During this difficult time, we would like to thank everyone for their kind messages, support and understanding.
We would like to let customers know that the business will continue under the care of Jane Stocker, who worked alongside Hilary for many years. Jane is committed to continuing the same personal service, beautiful floral designs and high standards that customers have always associated with Hilary West Florist.
At present, the shop is operating on an appointment-only basis during this transition period. However, customers can still order bouquets, floral arrangements and funeral flowers with confidence, knowing they will receive the same care and attention to detail as always.
In the future, the shop premises will eventually close, but Jane will continue to provide flowers independently from home via telephone ordering (the same number) and a new website. The new name will be Hilary Jane Flowers. Further details will be announced in due course.
